A century of preserving knowledge, culture, and Gandhian heritage in Vetapalem.
Located in Vetapalem, Prakasam District, Vetapalem; Saraswata Niketanam is one of the nations oldest, privately managed libraries. Founded by the late Sri. VV Shreshty on the auspicious day of "Vijaya Dasami" in 1918; the library has captured the hearts and imaginations of the world for over a century; from a means of galvanizing the support of residents living in the district to serving as a storehouse for some of the most valuable books, manuscripts and artefacts.
